Angular, practical, variable and sometimes even electric – minibuses are the largest in the passenger car segment. If you are travelling with up to 9 people or simply want more travel comfort and a table in the car, the adaptable 9-seater is ideal. We give an overview.

All minibuses can usually be configured in three different sizes. A distinction is made between the smallest variant with about 4.6 meters, a medium variant with usually 4.95 meters and the longest option with around 5.30 meters. The best minibuses with 9 seats

A car with 9 seats is not so easy to find. There is a Ford bus, also a Mercedes bus or minivans. But you don't have an insane amount of choice with 9-seaters. The best panel vans are usually for craftsmen and therefore commercial vehicles. If you go on holiday with a 9-seater, then you have to be careful with the toll in Hungary. Maybe you are also looking for a VW bus alternative?

We have listed the most common 9-seater models for you.

1. Fiat e-Ulysee

We have tricked a bit here, because nine people do not fit into the e-Ulysee - but up to eight. And an 8-seater is certainly quite sufficient for the vast majority of families. With the e-Ulysee, you hardly have to make any compromises. It is environmentally friendly because it is fully electric, elegant, practical and has a range suitable for everyday use. You also get a lot of comfort inside and at a fair price.

2. Ford Tourneo Custom

The new generation of the Ford Tourneo Custom looks really chic and Ford should become a cheap alternative to VW. If you want to be on the road with up to 9 people, you should definitely give the Ford a look. Overall, it does a good job, because equipment and technology are also state-of-the-art.

3. VW Caravelle

The VW Caravelle is less suitable for private individuals and more for commercial use. It looks very similar to the Multivan, but actually offers up to 9 seats. It is the perfect choice, especially for passenger transport and shuttle services. Not only the high level of practicality, but also the high-quality equipment and the many assistance systems help to make the journey comfortable and safe.

4. Citroen e-SpaceTourer

The practical SpaceTourer is now only available as an environmentally friendly version e-SpaceTourer. If you want to protect the environment through locally emission-free driving and at the same time need a lot of space, you're doing everything right with the electric Spacetourer. A range of up to 330 kilometres is possible here and up to 9 people can be transported. By the way, the SpaceTourer is an insider tip if you want to convert a van into a camping car!

5. Toyota Proace Verso Electric

Almost identical in construction to the e-SpaceTourer and the e-Traveller, the Toyota Proace Verso Electric with an environmentally friendly drive has recently also been convincing. Functionality is a top priority here. Seats can be moved, tilted, removed – just as you need them at the moment. And of course, there is room for nine people here. For a car of its size, the Proace Verso is quite smooth and a little fast on the road. The price is okay, but it is not the cheapest.

6. Hyundai Staria

The Hyundai Staria is certainly the star among the minibuses. Because it not only looks modern-futuristic and is comfortable - it can even transport up to 11 people. No competitor model can do that!

The Staria is also classy and stylish, which is also a plus point for great spaciousness and functionality. Of course, this has its price, but you are happy to pay more for such an exceptional talent. The Staria is also well suited as a car for tall people because it offers a lot of space in the rear.

7. Opel Zafira e-Life

Opel has taken it seriously. The Zafira Life is now only available as an environmentally conscious e-Life. But overall, the Zafira Life is still quite young as a vehicle concept. Only a few years ago, the Life version replaced the classic Zafira van. With the minibus model, a lot of space is now announced. If you configure the e-Life accordingly, you can invite up to nine people. The seats are easy to move thanks to a practical rail system.

8. Renault Trafic Combi

The Renault Trafic Combi is a true talent for variability. It can be configured with two to nine seats and therefore has exactly what everyone needs: space for many people or an enormous amount of storage space. The large sliding windows are easy to open and the interior of the Trafic Combi offers an elegantly designed cockpit with a central 8-inch display and navigation function. If you want the nine seats, you have to choose the long versions.

9. Nissan Primastar station wagon

The Nissan Primastar station wagon is relatively cheap to get to the 9-seater. But actually, we already know the Primastar, as NV300 – and before that it was already called Primastar. The many name changes are a bit complicated. What has remained, however, is a lot of spaciousness and flexibility. The decision for the Primastar is easy, especially when you consider that the highest equipment costs just as much as the basic version of the Multivan.

10. Ford Transit Custom Station Wagon

With the Ford Transit Custom station wagon, you are very variable and flexible on the road - and if you wish, also environmentally friendly thanks to the plug-in hybrid. Seats can be rotated or removed and thus allow transport of up to 9 people or can be useful when moving or visiting the furniture store.
